Beta Cephei stars, SPB, delta Scuti stars, Doradus stars in EB’s

Abstract:

The goal of this proposal is to select eclipsing binaries in which a pulsating component of type beta Cephei, SPB, delta Scuti and/or gamma Doradus is found. The observations will be the full characterization of the oscillation modes of their components. Investigation of these systems will allow to identify the pulsating component, to study the behavior of two stars originating from the same protostellar environment but at different evolutionary stages, to observe in some cases the changes of pulsation properties due to extreme phenomena at play in binaries (mass transfer, tidal distortion ...) and to apply modern techniques implying spatial filtering modeling.
